Adam grew up on a farm in rural Ontario and learned the importance of hard work, honesty, integrity, and perseverance at a young age. While in high school he had the opportunity to participate in a co-op program and worked for one of the best landscaping companies in Canada; it was during this time that Adam developed a passion for landscaping. After graduating from university with a BA in Law and Justice, Adam decided to pursue a career in law enforcement and spent seven years working for the Alberta Sheriff’s Branch. Although this experience was interesting and meaningful, Adam still had a passion for landscaping and often worked on small projects during the weekends. After several years of moonlighting, The Jansen Group was created. Adam decided to pursue his dream of building a professional landscaping company; one that was unique, and focused on his core values. In the early years, the jobs were small and the equipment consisted of a pick up truck, some hand tools, and a small utility trailer. Within a few years, the company grew significantly and completed several large-scale projects. Although the company was larger, Adam still integrated his ideal principles into his work: honesty, integrity, perseverance, innovation, and trust. Today, The Jansen Group has approximately 20 team members and takes on custom projects of varying sizes. Adam currently sits on the board of directors for Landscape Alberta (LANTA) and is passionate about helping the landscaping industry in Alberta grow. When not at work, Adam stays busy helping his wife raise three beautiful, active children.
As the Chief Operating Officer for the Jansen Group, Graeme really is a jack of all trades. After spending over a decade in the landscaping industry and studying business at the University of Alberta, he has had the unique opportunity to truly work in every aspect of the company; from labour and estimating to project management and financials. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Business Law, Graeme has developed a passion for business process and growth. In his spare time, he takes personal and professional development seriously and you can find him reading up on any number of business topics ranging from strategy to investments. Finally, to balance it all out he loves to spend time with his family, friends, and his dog Bailey.
With over 25 years in construction administration, Val’s bookkeeping, customer service and sales experience has enabled her to be a strong part of the backbone of the company. She will always have a smile and her tenacious work ethic has made her an excellent multi tasker who handles all inquiries with expedience and professionalism.
