These homeowners wanted multiple entertainment spaces including a dining area with a water feature, a sun patio with chaise lounges and a pergola that could function as a three-season room. The Jansen Group was happy to oblige.

No sod or turf was installed in this low maintenance backyard and we were very careful to select dog-friendly plant material. Groundcovers like moss and thyme float over the new hardscape and make it feel like a mature planting. The entertainment areas are surrounded by lush shrub and perennial plantings with black rubber mulch which the homeowners requested as they find it more dog-friendly.

We installed a custom aluminum pergola that was manufactured in Denmark. The modern aesthetic of the pergola is a beautiful contrast with the traditional style of this older family home.

The pergola has a powered louvered roof system that keeps it rain and snow-proof during inclement weather and opens to allow light in on beautiful sunny days. Three sides of the pergola are power retractable screens and the door and wall section is a beautiful design of seamless glass. The other features of the pergola are two electric heaters, a gas fire table, lighting, and a sound system.

The landscape lighting was designed to illuminate the mature trees in the yard which frames the yard beautifully at night. Carefully designed path lighting makes it safe for the dog and guests as they move around the entertainment areas and creates a beautiful ambience. In short… this landscape is ready for whatever the clients desire.
